this may seem like a silly question, this is my first festival i have ever been to. Will we be allowed cameras in there and take photos? Or are they prohibited? copyright and suchlike?

They were permitted at last years festival amidst some confusion... but me and my girlfriend took in disposables and all we got from them was a load of really dark pics. So take a quality one or don't bother is my advice! :)

i'll take my normal camera,
a kodak advantix unless there is some official word about them.
when i was at AX-Tokyo after the cosplay contest saturday night there was some woman singing, people were still taking photos, at first i thought it was some sort of drugs bust... about 25 staff members were goin thru the audience telling them to stop taking pictures.

lol sorry

on topic tho....last year i took mine ...got some good pics ...got some bad(security guards was in way :|) ...hopeforly we will be able to take normal cams this year ....and lets hope the security guards dont stand to in the way of the bands !!!

yeh joe mate those pics were pretty crap... just greyness with a white thing in the middle that was apparently Tarja... i would advise taking a proper camera... flash aswell...

make whoever is up there feel like "the most electrifying band in music entertainment today!..." ;) well will just have to ask about it when we get there i suppose. Sonata Aren't on till saturday, so i'll ask friday if i find someone who looks important enough to answer that question*. assuming all 2500 pay £40 (or equivalent) thats £100,000 not including the rental for the hall... theres probably facilities for the bands.. such big names as well will £100,000 suffice all those record labels? ^o)...

*The 1st person who might say yes ;) :D

I didn't really follow either... but I suppose the message of making the band feel wanted is good... if that WAS the message :err:
:)

sry was kinda thinking of something else..
i used to watch wrestling.. back in the day of dx Vs the corporation.. just after that it was the ministry, and the rock left cos what vince did to his daughter at the time, then the rock became one of the good guys, was his gimmick, when he was champ used to hold the belt up and everyone used to take pictures... and he was going on about being the most electrifying man in sports entertainment today.

i'll be quiet now :$

I took a camera last year but I didn't take it into the venue. I just used it during the day to take pics of us in town etc and passed out drunk at night :p
If i took the digital camera I'd probalby smash it in the pit and then i'd be fucked!
I'll just take pics like I did last year and for the band pics...well there is plenty posted on the Bloodstock website anyway!
I was thinking of taken some in the signing place but the queues are always too long and i'm too impatient to wait in them! In 2002 I missed balance of Power waiting to get signatures! When in the end all they are a signature.....who really gives a damn! I got diamond Head to sign my wallet in gold pen and had a bit chat with them but 2 weeks later it had rubbed off! :S

Yeh, i meant to take a camera last year but forgot... i dont see the point in waiting around for signatures either... my good mate Joe5now got nightwishes signatures but missed masterplan and the beginning of edguy in the process... not something i was willing to sacrifice...

yeah exactly!
I got Blind Guardian to sign my ticket last year and this year was going to get Nightwish to do the same!
But to miss masterplan would be insane!!!!
They were the band I was looking forward to seeing the most and there was no way i could have handled being in the same building as them and not watching them! I'd of never lived it up! hehe

main reason i'm here is to see sonata arctica, some of the others sound good but i'm willing to miss them, probably get my tickets signed, maybe if im feelin lucky i'll take an album, probably takatalvi or winterhearts guild. would it be wrong to take something like ecliptica or silence and ask henrik to sign it?

Presuming the rock society get priority signing sessions:

I think I may get my Sonata Arctica shirt signed. Waste of a good shirt I know, but it'll look nice on the wall. :D

Bodom can have the pleasure of signing whichever album I choose to bring.

I don't think it would be wrong to ask them to sign any album, they still play it live. Session men sign stuff all the time!
Nightwish are my favorite band so personally the signature getting was worth it, if not a little farcical because of security reasons. I doubt I'll bother this year though, the lineup is just too good to miss a second of anything!
