Hey guys:
Due to my shitty pc, I'm thinking of a way to record my song without pushing the CPU usage, but does this work:

Can I record every track alone then mix them together? For example: record the rhythm guitars alone, and then render them, and do so with every instrument, and then mix the WAV files.

Wil this work?

The answer to your question is "Yes" anyway.

Record at 24 bit 48000khz, If just demos and not too picky, use less.
Do not apply any plugins whatsoever until mix stage, and even then stick to basic low cpu plugins. Most of the time graphics are what kill you, so i recommend reading up online how to disable everything your computer is using that isnt necessary for audio. This includes visual/graphics, applications running in the background. Then go into your daw and turn disable real time waveform drawing etc or anything else eating cpu. I've made demos with loads of tracks on horrible pc's from the 90's. It can be done. Good luck

You have an interface and mics to record a full band together but a shitty pc?

Thanks man, I'll try those tips :)

I only have a multi effect unit to record my guitar, and the drums and bass will be programmed, and there's no vocals(instrumental)

If your multi-effects unit acts as an usb/firewire interface then you can use it's asio drivers to record in your daw, otherwise you're screwed
