pale folklore probably has the best clean tones ever

how do they pull that shit off!

Over a year ago I PM'd Anderson on here about what kind of equipment they use and he actually replied. Here's his response:

Well, if you are talking in the studio, we use an assortment of guitars from strats, to Les Paul Customs. Most of the "metal" rhythms were done on the les paul, the more clean tone stuff was done on a custom strat. As for amplification, Haughm uses a POD, but I don't know what settings. I am pretty ignorant on this stuff as everything we use is studio stock (meaning, the engineer has a ton of shit he drags out and has us play through) as for live I just plug into an Ampeg stereo chorus head and rock. I hate effects. They get in the way. Haughm uses a ton of effects, but I use talent. hehehe.

I wish I could be more help, but I am not a tech junky or profess to know anything about guitar electronics or equipment. A wa wa pedal is about as techy as I get.

All the best!
Don

cool! thanks for that then

i refuse to believe that there was anything resembling a POD used in the recording of pale folklore. ok maybe the cleans if anything, but the album has a real analog sound to it
