www.canwestmetal.com is proud to announce the grand opening of our own Direct Connect hub. For those unfamiliar with Direct Connect, it's a way to share files with other people, chat, and maybe meet some new people.
In order to connect to our hub, you need a special program. Windows users are encouraged to use DC++ which can be found http://dcgui.berlios.de/. Linux users can use Valknut which can be found http://dcgui.berlios.de/. There are Direct Connect clients available for Macs as well but I am not familiar with them, nor do I know where to find them.
After installing/loading your Direct Connect client simply go to leviathan.canwestmetal.com to connect to our hub. Please read the rules as this is meant to be a METAL ONLY hub. That mean NO PORN WHATSOEVER, NO NON-METAL, and please keep the pirated software down to an absolute minimum. This new hub is meant to be a place run by metalheads, for metalheads so let's keep it that way.
If you are currently a Direct Connect user you are encouraged to become a registered user. Eventually the hub will only be available to registered users so you snooze, you lose.
In anticipation of the new hub I have created a new forum for hub help and information. I'm sure there will be other hub-related forums created soon but one is good enough for now. So if you have any questions or need some help, that's the place to go.
Ir0n_Me, being just as geeky as me, has accepted the responsibility to help moderate all of the hub-related forums. Since he is also a Direct Connect user he will also be an operator in the hub. All users in the hub who have an [OP] in front of their name are hub operators and we're there to assist with questions, register users, and enforce the rules.
The hub will definately gernerate some traffic to the web site as it will be open to users worldwide. So hopefully this will help get things off the ground.
