We all know the backstory to the 'End of an Era' DVD and that Tarja was a dead woman walking the moment she stepped on stage. She had no idea there was an envelope with her name on it back stage, waiting for the end of the show. So this particular frame from EoaE always makes me snicker.

So, what do you think Tuomas was thinking at that moment he smirked at Tarja?

Hate to break the news to you, but Tarja and her husband were clubhouse cancers that needed to be removed. They both are better off that she got canned.

BTW, BOTH Spinefarm/Universal and Roadrunner were in on the axing. If they did not want it, they would have said something. Also, the way Universal strongarmed Tarja to sign the DVD release deal without strings is an indicator that they wanted her out of Nightwish.

Agreed. Pyro, read the book on the band. She became difficult from the time they recorded 'Century Child' and said she was quitting THEN, in 2002. Pile that on with her saying she'd quit after 'Once' and that threat to Tuomas in Toronto... is there any wonder that in that frame, Tuomas is thinking "You're so fired..."

There is one part during the DVD where Tarja comes up close to Tuomas while she's singing (I want to say during "Ever Dream", but I'm not 100% sure), and he backs off! I always laugh at that part because it's like he doesn't want her to get too close or he may change his mind!

I don't think he thinks "You are so fired" , it's like a mixture of happiness for the concert and sadness . That's how he looks from that caption
