CDs that look the same by the same band are stupid.

Grabbed Opeth - Damnation on my way out the door this afternoon, and I was halfway out of the parking lot wondering why I didn't notice that atonal fade in at the beginning, before realizing it was stinkin' Blackwater Park. Both CDs look damn near identical and I had each album in the wrong case! And yes I turned around and got the right CD. :loco:

I only have one Borknagar, they all look the same I take it.

What Taake did with their two albums is kinda clever, they are very similar looking but not identical and fit their respective music, but I hate identical looking shit! Makes me confused and angry!

yeah, BWD nailed it with Borknagar. Nothing but a single letter to tell the difference. "E" for Empiricism. "Q" for Quintessence, and so on...

Other than that, every CD has some dorky drawing.

You know what I hate, is some band you don't really know that well, and there is nothing on the cd but some artwork. What the hell CD is it anyway? Winds up in some stack of unknown cds...

I like it. It's coherent.
Maintaining a similar artwork theme throughout a career yes, I do like that (except Primal Fear of course. :loco: ), it's the stuff that is 99% similar that bugs me.

But we all must ask ourselves the most mind-boggling question of all here:

Why the hell was NAD listening to Opeth?

Muwahahahaha

I was in the mood for Porcupine Tree Lite, so I grabbed Damnation. :loco:

Those Coroner albums show up on my end at work (not at home for some reason), I like that theme. Coherency without duplication.

I have one all black CD, Maiastru Sfetnic. Honestly I'm surprised I don't have more, but many are nearly all black.

Reminds me of my Rotting Christ Genesis CD and my Coldplay CDs (Parachutes and AROBTH respectively). They all are black/dark coloured and you have to read the CD's small/obscure font to see what they are.

Yeah but you can never get that mixed up with anything else since it's in a little handmade box. I'm always getting my Farmakon mixed up with Metallica's fifth album, however. :loco:
