Hey all,

I'm trying to get a few effects going on some backing vocals and found it hard to find out of the box solutions for this.

Do you guys know plug-ins that will do those cheap-dj-mixer, statefair style voices, like a devils voice, marsians, stuff like that ?!

Any tips?!

Thanks OOT

izotope vinyl will do some nice crappy lo-fi sounds, and i believe its called "KTGranulator" or something will do some weird wacky martian shit if you need it to. Theyre both free.

actually, can I hijack this thread with a question of my own, I have a pod x3 that I use for my guitar, but I would like to expand and use it for vocals as well, any one recommend settings/effects I can use/play with that can compliment my bands overall tone, or even cheat to win with dual vocal tone ? ( were hard rock, think Kyuss/BLS/Alabama Thunderpussy etc )

What hardware have you tried? I know its Digitech but I wonder how this is or others like it are...

I'd rather find a VST solution since I really want it to be just a once in a lifetime effect - but since I do not really know what kind of vocal effect I'm looking for I thought there might be a plugin that does funny voices and I could try a few to see what would suit my need.

But thanks for the replies, I'll give it a go and let you know what I found useful and what not

Search this site for VST stuff.
Ask it to show the free shit, specify Windows or MAC-OS. You'll get pages of links.
I expect your best bet will be stuff like pitch-shifting, ring modulating, maybe LoFi and distortion stuff. The FSU category appears to stand for "fuck shit up".
