Guitar player of my band doesn't have a proper way to record decent guitars. He still records with a Boss Micro BR, which is pretty limited, and it isn't even from him.

His birthday is coming up, and I still have a Cubase SE license lying around. Now I'm looking for an interface that has a DI build which I can possibly get for his birthday.

Any suggestions?

TC Electronic Konnekt 6. :)

I have one and I really like it.

I also have a Countryman Type 85, and there's honestly not THAT big of a difference between plugging into the Konnekt's instrument input or the Countryman. Little added clarity from the CM, but not that much. At least that's how it is with EMG's.

Before I got my Tascam US-1800 (great rig by the way), I used an Alesis iO2 Express. DI's were a tad noisy, but for $99, it worked great. Still have it too.
