Children of Bodom - Cover Thread

I used a Shure SM57 mic, EVH 5150 50 watt head, and a 2x12 mesa boogie rectifier cab. I replaced the pickup in the Jackson RR24 from the EMG81 to a Dimarzio Gravity Storm.
Hmm. I've been toying around with amp sims for the last two or so years now but I've never been exactly happy with the sound. Guess I should try recording with a microphone. I have a Shure SM58 for vocals already and based on a quick google search it can do guitars as well it so should be easy to get started.

Yeah, same. I used to try to make covers with a line 6 pod studio and never got it to sound good enough to share. The SM58 should be okay. Lemme know if you have any questions or anything I'll be more than happy to help if I can. It took me a while to figure out what the f I'm doing.

Used the backing track in the TABs thread.

BTW, if anyone could make a Bodom Blue Moon backing track I'd very much appreciate it.

Oh man. First of all, I've watch already a few of your videos and I love them. Secondly, this solo as always been one of my favorite and you nailed it. This part with the tapping/bend in the middle always gets me. Thirdly, if you ever think of selling that guitar PLEASE let me know. I'd kill for it.

Thanks, man! Well, I hope I never have to sell it... :D

Cool, dude.

I always wanted to try a Roope signature. Does the LTD have the floyd moved up closer to the strings like Roope's guitar? I Roope said that ab out his guitar in some video once upon a time.

Yea, I think it does, because the fretboard ends in the same place as the Gus G model, which has 2 fewer frets. It would be pretty much impossible to reach the last frets without that.

Today I had a spark to do vocal cover of SNBN. I've never even practiced or recorded my growls before so I was a bit surprised about the result. Atleast in my ears it sounds decent but ofc not even close to perfect. Luckily I got some experience about mixing metal, bass, guitars etc. and a smaaaalll idea about mixing vocals. I'd love to hear any comments/tips about singing and mixing. The background is from random youtube cover. I just downloaded it and sang over it.

Crushing audio! He also has a cover of Bed of Razors, Silent Night, Follow the Reaper, Warheart, Bodom After Midnight... He makes Warheart sound earth shattering in particular. Such a fucking amazing song.

I consider this the best Bodom cover ever on youtube. Fucking mindblowing song. It takes a lot to give these songs the execution they deserve. On this one he gets things just right.
