Classical for chops

Hey Chris, I'm wondering if I should learn classical guitar to build chops. I am a fan of classical music, but would like to learn how to play it. how would I begin to learn the style?

Hey Cacophony87,

It definitely won't hurt that's for sure, but I would tell anyone that the best reason to learn anything is either out of necessity or because you really want to. For example when I first started the classical guitar it was out of duty (very painful at first) but then I started to love the instrument for what it could do, and learning became a lot easier. As for starting I would recommend Solo guitar book one by Frederick Noad, and would add that lessons definitely help.
