Classics Reborn

Sadly no, back in his Samson days he was nicknamed after a Monty Python sketch called Bruces where (if memory serves all characters in the sketch were named Bruce). Bruce didn't like it but went along with it and the record company even wrote dud cheques to him as Bruce Bruce. The name appears on at least one album cover from memory.

We did a similar sketch to the Monty Python Bruce sketch in the grade 5 play. However given the 7 rules at the University where Bruce Beer goes are:
  1. No poofters.
  2. No member of the faculty is to maltreat the "Abos" in any way whatsoever—if there's anyone watching.
  3. No poofters.
  4. I don't want to catch anyone not drinking in their room after lights out.
  5. No poofters.
  6. There is no rule six.
  7. No poofters.

I kind of think our sketch was only "based" on the Monty Python sketch.

Looks like it's a definite item, release date to be confirmed apparently.

I hope it's not the shit show people want. I'm sure too that people will find something to complain about. For some it will be too gay, for others it wont hit the right subjects, for others they'll read between the lines and make up their own shit. He can't win either way but whatever happens I do hope he doesn't make it bitchy....which I don't think he will.

Yeah, expect if the book goes the way he suggested it might ages ago it will be more focused on his private life than his music life so the gay bit is going to come into it quite a bit.

Damn, the promo wagon is out early on Rob's book. I read somewhere yesterday it's not out until October 2020

Yeah I was surprised. I was hoping it was a typo, not because I'm desperate to read the book but because I'm desperate not to put up with 12 months of "coming soon in Rob's book"

That is good.
Iced Earth was one of those bands I never really gave much time to initially. They didn't get a great deal of coverage here in Aus in the 90's and by the time they were getting coverage Ripper was in the band which put them down a few tiers anyway. I have since bought their self titled, The Dark Saga, Something Wicked This Way Comes and Incorruptible. And I have heard their covers album which was okay.

When I was living in Sydney in 2000-ish I remember running into an 18 yr old from an IRC group who loved ping pong and always wore and Iced Earth shirt. That further put me off the band :)

I had the first Iced Earth album on tape when i was little but yeah didnt really get into them until i got a little older. Their first two are pretty good and there's definitely some good stuff on Burnt Offerings, Horror Show and The Dark Saga. Dont think i've hear any of their other stuff.

Their first album probably gets the most playtime from me these days.

They have some half decent album covers and t-shirts. I know a few times I was tempted to buy something of their just because of the pictures, but thankfully some times I pull my head in when it comes to first impressions :)
