I know it's not technically metal but damn the new Deep Purple album really good!
Hahahahaha!I've said it before and I'll say it again...and again Get Rid Of THOM!!
I'm looking forward to this.https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/marty-friedman-is-putting-finishing-touches-on-new-solo-album/
Good on the guy who was once in Megadeth for putting a solid effort into his music. I only really listen to the stuff he releases as videos these days but there is no doubt his passion is strong and he's doing what he loves in the way he wants too.

I can see why he calls it Slow Burn

Oh yeah?
I'll have to get to this later. But I haven't liked any of his solo stuff so far.
I'm having trouble telling which is Thom and which is Jason McMaster. I kind of expected more with Jason. Some of the comments on Blabber said the playing was weak too, I didn't agree with that. Sure it wasn't JP quality but they wrote it and they have played it forever, for me the let down is, as usual, Thom. He started out almost as if he was trying to emulate Rob, then in the lead up to the chorus he sounded like he was trying to be himself, then he got to the chorus and seemed to forget who he was trying to be.
I don't have his latest studio album yet. But I have the one before and I have the new live album. I think they are both really good. For whatever reason I'm almost never bored listening to Marty. And damn do they sound good live. Lot's of energy.I always like to hear what Marty is doing but buying an album of mostly shredding by him or anyone else just doesn't appeal to me any more...and I bought Tokyo Jukebox!
I really only know the hits (mostly), but I always liked them.Yeah it's a classic Deep Purple album, they are re-inventing anything, they aren't trying to be something they aren't, they are just playing the classic rock they are known for.
Does he have a lame singer? Or is it instrumental? I'll give it a shot if there's no singer.Technically it might be good, the guy might have the skills, but it's not something I could see myself putting on to listen too.

You're putting the two other people who go there for the album at risk!! Lol, kinda make me want to go there and see what my security does.Yeah I'm not sure Jnr and Thom are bringing out the best in anybody. Whether that is deliberate or just the way they produce I don't know.
I just went to the EMP website to check on the track listing for the album and their website has been hacked/compromised. It's got a redirect bug on it, doesn't redirect every user every time but when it does it redirects to some shitty scam competition that renders the back button useless by loading the page multi times in the background and it keeps telling the viewer to click yes on some question I didn't read because I knew how to bypass. It's a common hit and one that probably should be reported to EMP but honestly until Dave gets rid of Thom I'm not sure I want too
