Classics Reborn

I suppose I could have put this in Fun with Metal. but it's so damn old.

God Adam Curry was such a poser.

Anthrax gives a new meaning to the word heavy! Cause no other bands where writing about the topics Anthrax were at the time.
The guy really knows how to ask the hard hitting questions :)

I knew you were a closet Lars fan, keeping all the videos in your private collection :p
Goddamnit. you replied too soon! I was just got to write a little caption in lol. I thought the video was going to be more diverse. It is cool to see and remember the world before Metallica chumped off.

Edit: IT's also very funny to see Sammy Hagar praise Metallica for being real and "street" and meanwhile he's dressed like a clown. The good ole days when big rock festivals were normal here.

Lol yeah every episode we'd swear at the tv. Why Curry! Arggg! (teenage outrage) Oh. Good name for a lame band!

He's not someone I ever had to see, Our reporters were pop/MTV reporters who knew nothing about metal but threw the occasional news story up if it was worth it. They too would have used a sentence like Anthrax gives a new meaning to heavy.

I was amazed how young every one looked, especially Sammy Hagar. Despite the video coming off like an ego rub for Metallica it was still interesting. Will Lars every stop sounding like a girl? Not that Kirk was much better!

Yeah I laughed at that Sammy line. I wonder how high he was at the time?

Reports suggest Noo Zulind are having a 100,000 people festival with a shitload of bands on the bill next month. Not sure if it's true or not given they recently had a covid scare but I saw it reported somewhere. We are moving back that way, I don't think we are into the 100,000's yet but we have had some relatively big bushfire relief gigs recently and places like Darwin have been having pub gigs with no masks and singers riding through the crowd on guitarists shoulders.

100,000? Wow I know you all aren't in the mess we are. But that doesn't sound like a good idea to me!
Lars has and will always sound like a little girl.
I don't remember which of those videos had Metallica playing live. But they sounded really good.

Yeah I was surprised to read it was going to be that many. Of course they have to get that many people willing to go too. Not to shit on Noo Zulind but all local bands, all day festival, there is a lot of faith in people to expect them to put up with that. Then again I think there was talk of 30,000 and 40,000 capacity football games here over the next few months. But there has been another escape of the virus from the tennis group over night and all matches have been cancelled today with something like 3000 people going into quarantine until they get a negative test, Masks have again become mandatory and limits on gatherings are in place so I don't know how that's going to affect the sporting codes.

Metallica did sound good for the most part until Jason left. Even many of the less than stellar shows on the AJFA tour sounded like they were played by a band giving it their all. Look back at some of those Binge and Purge live tracks, the band did have a power that was hard for many to match. Also being on a bill with bands like Van Halen and Kingdom Come it's hardly surprising they were sounding better :)

Fucking sports people in general who think they are more important than everyone else!

VH were good but completely different music to Metallica, just the power and thrash behind Metallica at the time would have blown VH off the stage :) Shit it's not often now one could say that!!

I think Kingdom Come was the first band Gene Simmons signed. I could be wrong but I have this vague recollection of them becoming popular because Gene either signed and produced or got them the deal.

I agree completely. They are all high on themselves.

Yeah that's very true.

Were they really? I thought they came out of the mid 80's. Shows how much I cared about that band lol. I don't think I could name one song but I always thought they were a joke.

Yeah I couldn't name one of their songs. I'm not even 100% sure it was Gene's discovery band now. I remember about that time Gene was talking about giving one of those soft rock bands a break but a quick scan of their wiki and there is nothing about Gene so maybe it wasn't them.

Probably, the shot of the guy from the band in the video above shows his wearing a leather vest with nothing but a pristine white shaved chest under it. That pretty much screams "I'm looking for Mr. Right!"

I believe so yeah. Low down on the tier as well I believe lol.

The weird thing is that they didn't die off, well they might of but someone forgot to tell them and they still released an album or two after they reached peak nothingness on Monsters Of Rock.
