Classics Reborn

There was so many good VHS (eventually DVD) releases that only had 5 or 6 songs on them that were too overpriced to buy in this country. It really sucked, no one wanted to pay $30 for 5 songs.

Yeah it wasn't until the CD/DVD combo that some of these video compilations actually became reasonable. It was obviously difficult to bundle a cassette and a VHS, but the CD/DVD combo meant that 5 or so tracks of video could be included easily with the music. But even that presented an annoyance because so often they'd sell the CD by itself then 12-18 months later they'd sell a 'tour pack" or a "deluxe pack" or some other fancy name but the CD included was still the standard CD which most fans had already had on the shelf.

Because Australia was sometimes at the start of tours we did have the occasional win where the tour edition came out early, but most of the time they still came out a long time after the first edition, and often they tried to charge more for it. Even when those bonus live tracks were recorded live in Australia somewhere it still sucked that they expected you to buy two copies of the actual album.

Back when Crabman Rob was cool :) I'm not sure I always agree with Mike, he seems a bit over the top on some things, but I always like seeing interviews and stuff with him.

I've seen that Megadeth interview. One of our stations must have picked it up and replayed it back in the day.
