Yeah and although it's classic Deep Purple it doesn't always sound like they are rehashing the same three chords all the time....although they probably are.

I don't think he does much these days. According to recent reports we might even be lucky to see him play metal for a while. He reckons all the stuff he's got written atm and what his planning is far removed from metal because he needs a break from the anger he needs for metal music

He did originally say he wanted to disband SYL after City and was not overly happy after that. Hoglan even claimed the band would more than likely never reform, so I don't like your chances.

Besides think about those days with the angry little Maple Leaf eater and his 'skullet' I don't blame him for not wanting to look that angry again

I didn't know he had said it way back then. I only heard him talk about it after the fact. I'm glad they got ALIEN in!

He has quite a few times since said how writing that music he needed to be really angry to get the feel for it and although he hasn't made more SYL-ish albums the heavy stuff really takes it out of him. At one point (maybe after Ziltiod) he was saying how much writing heavier stuff was effecting his family life.

I think he's got one album of heavy stuff written but he wants to get the other four albums he's toying with out first.

One of their best. Produced by Martin Birch. Influenced so many current bands and is the main influence of Steve Harris to make Maiden a dual guitar band.

Glenn 'leaving' JP has to be one of the best moves they have ever done. Every other day there is fan footage of concerts with Glenn playing. They always said he was going to play when he could but it's almost like he never left and the fans are posting every video they can of it.

Yeah it does a bit but I reckon this has got to be the next best thing. It appears he's pretty much on the road with them and he gets a few songs most nights. He's still going out rocking in some way, shape or form.
