Cleaning 1/4" Jacks???

Hey guys my amp developed a problem recently where the volume would fluctuate randomly. After ruling out all of my gear/leads I decided to bridge my Send and Return Jacks on my amp. Voila, problem gone. I had initially thought alot worse as in possibly Firepod, X-Amp, 808, new tubes...so this was a relief. Anyway, anyone know an easy way to clean the contacts of 1/4" Jacks? I am assuming dirty since I read about a similar problem somewhere (maybe here, can't remember).

My ideas:
Very thin sandpaper, alcohol, acid weak enough to eat only dirt without touching anything else.

Spray contact cleaner on a 1/4" plug and push it in & out... in & out... you get the idea.

Get CAIG DE-OXIT. Don't mess around with the cheap stuff. The CAIG products work brilliantly. Spray in & wipe with a Q-tip.
