i wonder what the music is called what our guys are doing?

Is it Symphonic Death Metal? Or melodic death metal???? or something else???

please help me out on this strugle^^....

cheers you guys

"our guy" calls it some true motherfucking heavy rock & roll metal ...

Dude seriously, it doesn't matter how you call the style of music. But describe the music.

Imo, its death metal with melodic elements.

I just call it metal. I don't think it's death nowadays and the melodic times are over too and heavy metal is Iron Maiden, Motörhead or Metallica imo.
But I also like tutti frutti

Ever witnessed a black person listening to metal music? I haven't and that's why I don't buy Alexi's joke of COB being gupsy metal. :) I just think they're death metal with catchy melodies and guitar-keyboard unisons in solos.

The closest term today to describe their music is extreme metal. Wikipedia says it all.

I believe the term Bodom metal will become more or less official in time as they're state of the art in what they do.

Bodom is a fusion of like 4 or 5 different genres, so it's hard to categorize them.

I usually like keeping my bands organized by genre and whatnot... but I've stopped trying with Bodom.

Something Wild: Melodic neoclassical unblack metal
Hatebreeder: Melodic neoclassical unblack death metal
Follow the Reaper: even more Melodic neoclassical death metal

others: trashshitcore /friendly mode: extreme metal

I must be the only one who never, and I really mean NEVER, found any bit of power metal in CoB's music...

Although, classifying this band's genre has always been hard, so maybe I think that some people maybe are just defining like "power" that kind of "happy-ish sound" that sometimes we can hear in some songs. But who knows.

I do agree about simply calling it metal though.

Are you fucking drunk or something? About the black people listening to metal yes, I've done, and even seen black people playing metal (Sepultura sounds familiar?), and about Bodom metal as a genre, I am seriously astounded noone has already jumped on you seeing how way less over the top posts by you ahve been flamed to death

I do agree with you that Bodom's style can't be compared to any other band (everytime the discusion about Bodom not beeing original I bring up the question of someone telling me a band that sounds like them nowadays and still have no response), but from there to starting a whole genre there's a lot IMO. Don't take this as an attack or as something personal, I tend to agree with you, but you shocked me this time.

Listening yes, playing yes.

why do people even try to classify them?? It is so dumb, and even alexi agrees with it and has stated many times that he just calls it "metal", plain and simple. When you have to sit around and try to classify something it makes you look dumb. Listen to what you like, and who cares what genre it is. No band out there can really be limited to just one genre if you think about it.
