You do know that to develop your own sound you must first experiment with other people's sounds and take what you like from them?

you can't just plug in a guitar or buy a keyboard and switch some random effects on and say "voalla! i've found my sound!"

Maybe sounding like Janne and seeing what aspects of Janne's sound he likes is the next step in finding his own sound?

Basically, shut it shitflap. Don't just copy and paste the same generic 'get your own sound" response.

i understand what you said about first experimenting with other peoples sound and taking what you liked from it. but i dont ever remember when i first started playing guitar, trying to get someone elses sound. i never wanted to sound exactly like someone, i wanted to be able to play like them and as good as them, but still be myself. sooo instead of waiting for you to rip me a new one again. i figured i'd try and explain where i was coming from, and my response wasn't meant to be a generic "find your own sound" post.

@ deathxunlimited: Why bashing me all around the place for wanting to know how to create COB sounds on my keyboard? I get your point and I agree, but I'm just starting - really starting - and I need to get a grip on something. I don't wanna be a Janne 2.

thx for the keyboard sounds, i actually was interested too in finding how to get the same sound as janne.

@deathxunlimited: and that doesnt i cant find my own sound, it only is better if you want to cover some songs to have the same sounds as the original.

I don't have a clue what to do. I owe a Casio WK-1600. Hey, any advice how to get his "sound" would be lovely! Fuck you.

I have this as my main board, its a solid synth and definately good enough for me, but I do wish I held out a bit and saved up for a real triton or triton extreme, the le has a kind of a limited number of sounds and effects.

anyway, you aren't going to get janni's tone on a shitty 200ish dollar casio. those things hardly even have a way to edit the programs, the are junk for beginners to just learn on. the closest i've gotten so something similar is using my alesis ion connected to a guitar effects pedal (the gt-6) used for distorted guitar leads, it sounded sweet. basically just a saw wave lead with heavy distortion

Korg Le is dire. Ok give me in either a few hours or a week i'm going to write a big article on keyboards and post it in here.

I've got a Korg N364 keyboard controlling my Roland JV-2080 rack-synthesizer, which is the same one that Janne's using (and for all of you about to call me fanboy and shit, no, I didn't buy it because Janne's using it, I bought it before I ever heard about COB).

Anyways, my point is, if you have the midi in/out/thru connections on your keyboard, then you should buy a Roland JV-2080 or some similar rack synth, then you can edit sounds, create patches and so on, and eventually, with some training get the sounds you're looking for. Search eBay or something, unless you live outside the US/Canada, because of the expensive shipping.

You stupid yank fuck. You know in the big world outside your borders.... There are other ebays... .co.uk, .se, .de, .jp and so on...

Stop thinking you're the only country in the world you pigignorant fucks.

well I'm both a Norwegian and British citizen, but reside in Norway, so no, I'm not a yankee (Me>Gavin), assumptious fuck.

Besides, eBay.co.uk sucks IMO, and .se, .de, .jp and so on are only worse, (especially .se, haha, those swedes) but this is just my opinion...
