It's a Finnish thing Every year in the Finnish ice hockey league SM-league lots of players grow a play-off beard or do a funky haircut if/when they get to the play offs

But didn't this originate from a Swedish tennis player in the 1980's? (Bjorn Borg) Then it spread to hockey, & Finland & now the Americans do it too......
