Communist/Socialist bands (metal or non-metal)?

As a leftist myself, I've always enjoyed lyrics with a political angle, well at least if it's left wing :) Manic Street Preachers and Rage Against The Machine to name just two famous examples have some great songs that display a deeply rooted leftist belief in the lyrics. I find it however hard to find other really good (= no cliche lyrics but really in-depth) left-wing bands. Some searching lead me to only Laal, a Pakistani communist rock band. I'm sure there must be others.

Does anyone know some bands that are known for their lyrics displaying a communist or strongly socialist belief?

PS: I just ask recommendations here, no political discussion :) If those on the forum with different political views wish to discuss bands that have their own ideology, they can start a topic too. I'm not asking for debating to goods or bads of communism, just asking if there are some recommendations for good left-wing bands that are really serious about it (no cliche "f... the government" stuff but really in-depth)

I think protest the hero are quite leftist there pretty awesome pretty heavy stuff compared to the bands you mentioned tho.

Rome (politico-philosophical); I'll warn you now, they're not a rock band:

Pff... coming from an ex-communist country, I can easily say that all rock and metal bands generally sang against it, people who liked this music were considered 'rebels'.

Although I know a moldavian hardcore/alternative band that has such tendencies called Zdob si Zdub. However, their lyrics are mostly in Romanian, sometimes Russian.

If we discount the ignorance of the typical communist and his use of ideology as an excuse to relieve internal frustrations, we realize that there is a difference between leftism and communism. Schmuck.

I don't know about the policy for link-posting to such things, but there is a Red-and-Anarchist-Black-Metal blog on .blogspot, but I think it'd be a foul to post the .com link since it's got lots of less-than-legal downloads... and a lot of cool bands.
