comparison...ProSteel vs. Nickel plated steel

I tried a few sets of DR's -- hi beams, black beauties -- and personally I preferred the pro steels. The PS's are stiffer which IMO makes them a little easier to play fast and dig in finger style. Also, I broke strings on both sets which is something I've never managed to do in 5 straight years of prosteels. It doesn't mean they aren't good, but at twice the price sticking with the PS's was a no brainer for me personally.

has anybody tried the Warwick red label stainless strings?

i have tried the pro steels but they only have till 130 for the five string so it a little "woobly"
i have a 34" scale bass (Squier jazz bass vintage modified) and i need at least a 135 string

FWIW I order the 45-105 set of PS and a 135 separately. Even doing that I think I came out at $25/set from bassstringsonline.com.

Damn this would have to be a comparison of boomers to PS.

As I look at the set of boomers sitting here on my desk. BOO.

So is this the same deal for guitars? Do most dig steels over nickel?

EPS170 - Long Scale 45-100: .045 .065 .080 .100, or
EPS165 - Long Scale 45-105: .045 .065 .085 .105, or
EPS160 - Long Scale 50-105: .050 .070 .085 .105

I have a Status Eclipse 4 strings, 34" scale, standard tuned (EADG), and want to use it for recording metal. :Smokedev:
