Hey guys,
With humbuckers I find I prefer pro steels for a bit more clarity.
However I'm now playing a stock Alder/maple board US Jazz tuned B F# B E, and wondering if nickels will work out to give some more midrange and less highs at source, without making the low B sound too muddy. Currently have pro steels with 130 for the B.
I'm finding I want to turn my tone knob down with the pro steels, and increasing mids a bit somewhere else in my pedal chain.
A/B'ing a few different thick bass singles is relatively expensive so looking for any experiences before I try switching from the pro steels.
Thanks
