Computer Issue

Sounds like a battery or power adapter problem or something wrong with your motherboard. Unless I could be there to dick around with it, your best option is to call Dell.
Yes
You should probably call a local computer repair dude to take a look at the mobo and power supply.
Don't do that.. that would void your warranty if of course its still behind the deadline.

im having a problem too. My Linksys 8 port router model #BEFSR81 is not working and its pretty much brand new.
All of the port lights are on, for no reason. I've reset it and nothing happens. even holding the reset button for 30 seconds and still nothing.
I may have to send it back.

I had an issue when my Dell Inspiron would freeze up, then a blue screen would pop up and I'd have to shut my computer down by holding the power button. It did this for a few months or so, and then one day when it did it, I couldn't boot it back up. It would go to the Windows loading page and then directly to an error screen that said "press F1 to retry, F2 to change settings." I took it in to the computer store and most of my hard drive was gone.

So, if anyone here has a Dell Inspiron that starts doing similar things, get it looked at.

my pc started freezing as soon as the desktop loaded the other week, which was fucking annoying 'cause i was planning to get a new pc in about a month and i needed it to hold out until then. i set up a boot virus scan in safe mode and it sorted things out fortunately.

Well THAT started a whole fucking ordeal of bullshit that pretty much amounted to me not having internet access until late last night.

Hi.

PS: Keeping the Christmas av. Also, I was typing this, the power went out for like a second and I thought that my computer had shit the bed again.

edit: It also made me double post? Whatever.

I don't want to start a separate thread, so I'll post it here.
One of my home PCs has been afflicted with an annoying error that always appears on the desktop when Windows XP starts.

Svchost.exe-Application Error. The exception unknown software exception(0x0000409) at location 0x720ac825

And the system prompts to click either OK or Cancel

If I click either choice,or anywhere prior to the error appearing on the screen, the system becomes unstable, and I'm forced to do a reset.
If I leave the error in the background, the system retains some stability but creates serious lag. This process takes up all of my CPU usage and creates memory leaks in various programs until the computer freezes and I have to hit reset

I've read on the net that many people are struggling with this problem, since the svchost file is associated with various processes in Windows, but I don't know how to track it down to the real culprit.
I checked the system for spyware and viruses, but found nothing.

Any tips?

1.Go 2 the start menu
2.Right click "my computer"
3.Click "properties" then the "automatic updates" tab
4.Choose "turn off automatic updates"
5.Reboot your computer
6.Go back to start menu and in all programs go to "windows update" you have to be connected to the internet.
7.Manually update windows.
8.Turn your automatic updates back on.

Yea, I saw this solution before.
The problem is that Automatic Updates are already turned off.
I've never actually attempted to do a manual update of Windows, and I don't think it'll work since I have an illegal copy of Windows(the PC came with Windows already installed).

I remember the last time my Windows XP was updated automatically, it downloaded some sort of authenticity validator software that nagged me about the fact that I have an illegal copy of Windows and blocked my access to further updates.
