Which are the best ones you have seen?

I'd say Porcupine Tree's was quite good. Emperor's Imperial Live Ceremony wasn't bad.

The ones I watch most frequently are Katatonia, Porcupine Tree, Enslaved, Opeth and Gojira. Asides Katatonia/Enslaved I never really listen to any of the bands now but the DVDs are cool. Need the new Opeth DVD to come out damnit, was years ago they filmed it and I'll get to see my self all fucking drunk and being interviewed. ;<

Concert DVD's are good in cases where the fans live in areas where the band cant/doesnt tour much. Recorded concerts are all that a person who lives in a remote place like this could have.

Eh, I probably go to more gigs than most on this forum and I still enjoy DVDs.

I enjoy watching well recorded DVD shows.

A few examples:

Dissection - Rebirth of Dissection
Gojira - The Link Alive
Bloodbath - The Wacken Carnage
Marduk - Blood Puke Salvation
Blind Guardian - Imagination through the Looking Glass
Kreator - Live Kreation: Revisioned Glory
Opeth - Lamentations

Non Metal - David Gilmour - In Concert

The ones I watch most frequently are Katatonia, Porcupine Tree, Enslaved, Opeth
I own these as well and the Bloodbath DVD. Pink Floyd Echoes of Pompeii is another one.

I've been wanting to buy the Carcass DVD and Death Live in L.A. but don't know if its worth it or not.

Bloodbath -the wacken carnage(cd & dvd)
Dismember -live blasphemies
Candlemass - the curse of candlemass
Opeth -lamentations.

I still need to get the Katatonia cd/dvd.

Slayer still reigning is cool(war at the warfield blows)

Amon Amarth - Wrath Of The Norsemen - the gold standard for this stuff. even if you don't like their music the performances are very good, the energy is great, good camera work, and of course the value is ridiculous - 5 concerts for $15

Emperor - Imperial Live Ceremony - I'm pretty neutral on this - the performances struck me as pretty good but not fantastic, but of course it's emperor so it was awesome anyhow.

Odin's Court - Doesn't really have a title afaik. Amazing guitar work here.

Metallica - Cunning Stunts - actually pretty good

Metallica - Cliff 'Em All - Great stuff, including the same bass solo from cliff like 6 times

G'n'R - Use Your Illusion - great setlist etc

Stevie Rai Vaughan - Live At Montreaux - fucking fantastic.

Iron Maiden - Live After Death - nuff said

etc

There are two live concert dvd's that I really rate 1) Opeth - Lamentations and 2) Enslaved - Return to Yggdrasill - Live in Bergen.

Awesome, awesome concerts, I would have loved to be there in the flesh.

I love metal DVDs, i have a collection of about 30. Some of my favourites are;

Metallica - Cunning Stunts (awesome quality, RELATIVELY shit track listing)
Amon Amarth DVD - Heaps of footage (7hrs+) and awesome music. Quality is a bit lacking in some of the shows.
Iced Earth - Alive in Athens - One of the best live CD/DVDs ever, but could've done with some different camera angles and DVD options.
Opeth - Lamentations
Arch Enemy DVD - Live Apocalypse - friggin awesome.
Dark Tranquility DVD - Also pretty sweet.
Bloodbath - Awesome. Love Mikael's crowd interaction.. funny shit.

The best I have seen are:-

Evergrey - A Night To Remember
Opeth - Lamentations
Iron Maiden - Rock In Rio
Overkill - Wrecking Everything Live
Amon Amarth - Wrath Of The Norsemen

Kiss - Rock The Nation LIVE!(now i've never been a fan but a live concert with Kiss is the true definition of a "show",not just the music but the whole experience)

Blind Guardian - Imaginations Through The Looking Glass(BG could be considered the opposite of Kiss when it comes to live concerts but the music makes up for it to say the least)

Dismember - Live Blasphemies(I've seen them live two times and this is almost as good, the only death metal band that smiles on stage, metal should be fun dammit!)

Metallica - Cunning Stunts(The crumbling scenery is awesome, along with James Hetfield in his best years.)

Never seen this before. I'll have to buy it.

It's 2 shows at the same festival in different years. The first one is a half hour and he gets booed hardcore despite kicking ridiculous amounts of ass. The second one he's all famous and the Swiss faggot posers suddenly decide they like blues rock after all. Fucking jazz posers...

Anyhow, great playing etc. Watch for the incredibly bored looking drummer. If you have netflix I think they have this.

Another good one is the Vital Remains DVD, Evil Death Live. I really wish they could have gotten Benton to front the band for the DVD but the random guy does a pretty good job despite looking a little funny.
