How do you guys feel overall about dropping a grand or two on a control interface (with motorized faders, etc) to improve overall workflow? I visited a studio that had an c24 type controller, and I thought it was a pretty nice thing to have since most of the controls you could possibly need are right at the push of a button on a console, etc.
Or is this one of the final things that should be added to a studio?

If you're working 14 hour days mixing then I could justify the purchase, until then just use pencil automation.

I couldn't justify a C|24 until I've quit my day job... though I did see a used Mackie Controller at GC for $400 that I could def. justify :D (If I had the money.....)

But alas, until then I'll stick with this mouse..

I used to not care up until I started getting into the live end of mixing. Now I can't stand mixing with a mouse, i'd much rather reach for a fader. You could check out the behringer controller (bcfsomethingorother). They wont really break the bank and itll put a group of faders in front of you. If you're ok with only 1 fader then check out the presonus faderport.
