Control

I believe that if they've got a gun in your face and they intend to shoot you, they're going to shoot you. But most of the time people who come into places waving guns actually have no intention of using them. They're to scared to.

So, I would try to get the gun away from them or just tell them "no, you can't have my/the money."
This way, if they shoot you, you go down with dignity. Plus, could you really face yourself in the mirror for the rest of your life knowing that you let some coward with a gun walk all over you? I couldn't. It's not about pride or not wanting to give up my possesions. It's merely about keeping my dignity and my faith in myself. Because when it comes down to it, that's the only faith you can really depend on.

I heard the same and I guess it's probably true. If I were faced with someone with a gun which could very well kill me in one shot, I wouldn't risk getting myself killed unless it was to protect my missus.

I think what's at stake makes a huge difference. I remember one time comnig out of a football game and getting into a barney (that means a verbal fight bordering on physical) with some opposing supporters. It was just me so I didn't intend to take it any further. But then my old man (that's means my dad) noticed and out of instinct he totally flipped, he's about 50! He went totally nuts started sceraming at them and chased them all the way down Fulham road until they ran into a chipshop and hid behind the counter. I was genuinely worried that he was gonna break them up. I think that kind of instinct can totally affect your actions.

good point, veil. If it was someone threatening my familt or friends or an animal I'd have to kill them as well. Or at least give them a good scar to remember me by. (call me sentimental)
