Crackling noise with M-Audio Delta 2496

I have this occasional crackling noise and slow down-effect with M-Audio Delta 2496 when playing back or recording in DAW. It's really annoying since the cracks record too. I have 32-bit 44.1khz files in my projects and use win xp. Has anyone had the same problem with M-Audio cards or how to avoid this?

i believe you might need to adjust your latency.
and make sure your sample rate for your device matches your project.

Fuck!! I just noticed only 1 of the 5 songs is recorded 32-bit and the others are 16-bit.
I converted everything to 24 bit 44.1khz, but it still crackles like hell!
I can't adjust the latency because I have to be able to play guitar with vst-amps.

Did not find anything, UM search sucks

Check buffer size, I believe setting the buffer in the M-Audio control panel gives a warning that could shed some light on the problem.

I checked that thread before, but it was about audigy 2? Anyway that thread had some good tricks I will try

Yeah, I knew it was a different card, but same principles apply.
