Opeth influences?

Include a list with our favourite riff, song, silence between songs, best-looking opeth member...

tbh i think we can leave out all the 'why does xxxxx song sound like yyyyy band' - there isnt any real reason for it, just what influences opeth, which comes under a different question.
 
Crap, great idea except for one thing:

This WILL kill the board, as there will be nothing left to talk about until Opeth releases or tours again.
 
Maybe you can leave out a few of those questions like:


I like Opeth, suggest some more bands that I may like
Where can i find an orchid shirt?

Mainly because these sort of questions can be answered differently every time, and arent anywhere near as rediculous as many of the other questions covered.

Good point there. The t-shirt question never provided a satisfying answer for me.
 
I think ChrisEmerson is working on a few of the answers... but some of the answers arent exactly clean cut, and may need a couple of different oppinions or interperitations,
 
Those were around 36 questions! I think we should keep the list to a maximum of 15 / 20, or more, but we should include those questions a thread of which makes us angry. that was the whole point of it, wasn't it? I agree with RavenousDeamon: if we don't have off-topic and we don't talk about these Opeth-related matters, what the hell is there left? Concerts? New album? And when we're fed up with these topics, are we going to expand the list of FAQ?

I think the forum at some point, however hard we try, is going to get repetitive. Opeth is not an endless subject matter. And the FAQ list will reduce it even more. Mind you, I support such thing, but it would be convenient to keep the list down to a relatively small number of questions.
 
I think most of those questions are quite acceptable and will let new members get straight to the beef if they have any direct questions. I don't think answering those right-out will detract from any discussion. People are still free to discuss whatever they want (things such as WHY Mikael used Melinda instead of who she is).

Anyhow, I've yet to add information about the channel errors and mastering fuckups on Still Life, and also the band that Mendez and Lopez played for, as I've forgotten.
