Well im looking at buying a new DAW package and I really like the Cubase stuff, I wanted to hold out to get Studio One by Presonus but they have no release/uk pricing or anything so fuck it.

Now the full Cubase 5 is expensive as shit but "Studio" is just over half the price.

Anybody use the Studio version? Is it worth getting? Is there a lot of IMPORTANT stuff missing from the regular version?

Cheers! :kickass:

It lacks the Studio EQ and the Studio Manager (Monitoring options). There's some other stuff missing but I can't remember right now. There's a comparison chart on Steinberg website.

Are you a Student? If so you can get a great discount.

Ah there is actually decent plugins missing? Hmm

Nay sadly im not :( Typical hah!

There are important things missing like Reverence (Impulse Reverb) or VariAudio (Melodyne-like pitch correction directly on the track) and a gazillion of very small things that can be annoying, too. That is not to say you can't do shit with studio, but if I were you I'd go with the full version if budget allows it. My guess is that you'll find yourself wanting to upgrade sooner than later.
