just took another look at the new stuff in Cubase 6 and I'm really getting a boner for it... but no transparent events sucks. I could live without it but I would prefer not to.

I remember reading that they were planning on fixing it.. did they yet?

or, for those of you that are using it, any neat workarounds?

no, they didnt.... events appear transparent when dragging things but not when slipping

Why not just do everything in 5? Tis what I'm doing. New version doesn't immediately invalidate the old.

Lot's of really cool features in 6, especially when it comes to midi editing. Take comping is really sweet, as well!

I guess I could record and edit drums in 5 and do everything else in 6...

This is what I'm about to start doing, seems pretty painless switching back and forth between the two as long as you don't have special 6-only features enabled when going back to 5.

yeah, I'm definitely not one that immediately jumps on the new version bandwagon, but that, plus the new timestretching algos seem awesome, plus the automation stuff (finally easy scaling...), plus you can FINALLY change the grid(although, this is way less useful without transparent events...), and the new midi features...

makes it a worthy upgrade to me. it has almost everything i want in a DAW. almost.

I'm definitely going to be doing this as well, because I really can't take free warping vocal takes just to have them shift when I render them and sound like ass anyway. Really want to try the new time stretching algos.

Let me remind everyone that's wondering if they should buy C6 - there's an official fully-functional demo on their site.

They have implemented a new behavior as a replacement for transparent events.Download the pdf for 6.0.2.They have a new way so you can actually see the grid lines.
