hi!
again a cubase question!
i you want to edit drums,e.g. you want to place a wrong played snare to the grid, you cut all tracks together and move them.how do you close the gap?with the trim tool or the timestretch tool!or do you only use timestretch when the gap is too big and you can´t close it with trim?
thanks,bye,pat

only want to know more about the "closing the gap" principle!
thanks,bye,pat

just hit "x" and don't hink about it ;)

I found this method way better than any time-stretching method....this just sounds cleaner and never gave me any problems....
just try working a bit with/on it....you'll find it very usefull and good sounding in the end ...and FAST

the problem i had was, that i couldn´t find a threshold setting in the "detect silence" window.in the tutorial it´s not clear, what you have to do there.i changed the parameters there, but nothing happened and more hits than needed came though...hmmm.....

what i do at the moment is to correct manually and close gaps with the trim as long as there is no second hit showing up,it works fine.

you don't have to use the trim!
just highlight the tracks and hit "x" it'll be closed and crossfaded automativcally...just make sure you have the fastest crossfade possible as your default setting.

for the detect silence: don't do the whole song at once...just do like 4-32 bars or so....different sections might require different thresholds

so the function of trimming and the "automatically closing of gaps with the x" is the same function,it´s just that one is manually and the other automatic.
sorry for asking these questions,i´m just curious how it all works,or lets´s say i´m also curious if i´m doing it right with my technique :)

it'll drag the start of the later bit to the front to close the gap
