Cubase: Merge, layer MIDI wtf!!!

How the fucking hell can i layer/merge or whatever it´s called several MIDI events in cubase. i mean this different color thing, where every color is one MIDI track. I think it is concerned with the arranger window. Internet search and manual didn´t help. Here is a youtube video of how i want it to work.

if you want to have them on different colours, you have to change the settings on the midi editor window, don't remember which drop down box it was by heart.
