Cubase: Wtf is this and how do I get rid of it

Whenever I record on that one track, it shrinks together like that instead of staying like the others. Why is that and does anybody know how to change it?

EDIT: and now it's doing that on all of the other tracks as well, wtf?

Yeah you have recording lanes on because your doing loop recording. Just turn it back off.

I figured it out, I needed to change the things from "Merge" and "Stacked 2" to "normal" and "mix".

Now how do I delete this?

No, that's what his setup of Cubase's GUI looks like. This is how I have mine set up:

You can alter a lot of things as far as colors, etc. I, personally, hate colored events. For a while I was using colors on shit but I actually just like it more the less color there is. *shrug*

Not at all... the brightness on my iMac's screen is dimmed down (from max brightness). I pull 12-14-16 hour sessions in front of that quite often, no problems. And besides, the point was to show him that you can alter the look of Cubase, that it doesn't only look like children's garbage (as the OP has his set up as , no offense).
