You can drag a compressor plug-in from the snare channel and drop it on a tom channel? That's strange because Steinberg announces this feature as new for version 5+ only.

I could do this on 4 as well.

No because the academic version of 5 is that much on the USA store. That is the academic version so the price is right.

Do you still need to prove you're a student in order to register it?

I believe with most dealers, yes, you do need to have proof that you are a student. In most cases simply showing an ID works, some dealers are diff though.

ID was fine for me. Steinberg didn't ask for anything when I got the upgrade to 5.
