Some bands are young/clueless and that or just dont wanna be arsed with all the business side of it. Some are promised that theyre gonna be the new Dokken and wanna merk it. When we signed to Peaceville we didnt have a clue about anything. I was happy enough to be on the same label as Autopsy and Paradise Lost, I was also 16 years old and not interested in doing mathematics and all that. Its worthwhile for any band to at least learn the basic logistics of their own line of business, but hardly any do, so labels can just bullshit them and offer half decent advances while blinding them with dead long words and stuff.Dhatura said:I understand that, and I guess if I was an artist I'd be happier with the independent situation, but why do a lot of bands still want to sign to a -- minor or major -- label?
