damn cold!

Yep, it was forecast to be around 70F here tomorrow, but I noticed the revised forecast now says 65F. With clouds and showers and drizzlehell.
I'd prefer snow, but on a day where it would get me out of work, thanks. :)

Whoa. On The Weather Channel I just watched ice floes breaking apart stuff on the Mississippi River. They've taken out some boats, boat houses and piers! TWC just played some eyewitness film footage from a woman in Missouri.

We're under dense fog & flash flood advisories. \m/ \m/

Not only that, I recall Aki complaining about how hot it was, when he was here in Sept. While our winters are like summer, for them, summer for us would kill them.

Actually, Urban finds it cold here. I keep my A/C around 72 in summer (can't sleep otherwise) and my heat around 70 in winter. He freezes at home, in the car, out... go figure.

Yeah, I know there are lots of Swedes in/around Chicago... that's why I mentioned it. :) Actually, there was a saying in Sweden at one time that "everyone has a cousin in America"... Chicago had more Swedes than any city in the world outside of Stockholm, somehwere back around the 20's/30's, something like that. I think Chicago is probably the only place in the U.S. where you can find glögg in a store or in a pub. We had to make our own.

Still, it strikes me as funny that people don't say "well, gosh, maybe we can go where it might not be so bloody cold all the time." <--Southern girl talking :p

I DO have cousins in Sweden. I don't think they're aware of my existence, though. I only know about them because a (now deceased) great-aunt kept in touch with them, and would go visit, on occasion.

I always wanted to make my own Glogg. Again, another great-aunt used to make it herself. Apparently a party guest one time demanded that she fill his glass up (despite all warnings against such an act.) The guy didn't make it out the door after finishing it. :D

Shaye, maybe Urban has lost his Swedish resistance to cold, by being in the southern US so much. ;) Though...he might want to make sure he's not anemic...

I'm glad I'm going to Florida next week :)

I'm from Pennsylvania, so I should be used to the cold... but I still complain!

Hey, I've lived in NYC my entire life and I will never be used to the cold. Granted, it doesn't get as cold here as other parts of the country, but I still DO NOT WANT. Hate, loathe, despise cold weather. I love New York, though, so I deal with it. Just like I deal with the fact that the subways all smell like a huge fart. :ill:

Yeah, we got blasted by a cold spell here in IL. It's pretty damn cold in Carbondale, too. Mind you, compared to Chicago it's warm, but for Carbondale, 32f is really dang cold. It was 25 yesterday.

Or the hearty breed of peeps that live in Western NY that usually have to suffer Wisconsin's weather a day or two after they get it!

Come on Dub, where's all of your hot air now? Send it my way!

I'm saving it up so I can leave it with you in person! :Smokedev:

25???!!!!! We won't see that kind of a warmup until March! This kind of weather builds character, as well as makes my nipples hurt!

For Carbondale, that's cold. Bear in mind, we're in the southern part of the state, right by Shawnee National Forest. It got 10F last night. XD

In central IL, where I grew up, it's closer to Chicago's temps. Which I understand are only slightly warmer than the South Pole right now.

Dubbykins, I never want to hear about your nipples again. :zombie:
