The last one I bought was Blackacidevil and that one did suck. I never got the newer one for some reason or another. However, I still have a lot of faith in Glenn, especially with Tommy Victor in the band. All of Danzig's albums up to Blackacidevil are great.

BlackAcidDevil did in fact, sound like a second rate Ministry record.
I was waiting for the Danzig Grunge record! Tommy Victor & Prong were so overrated, I thought. You can put all the good tracks off all their disc in one & make one great compilation of riffs & bass lines. I think that if Glenn doesn't have these guys in the new band, they are done.
I don't hold too much faith in them these days & I say put afork in 'em they are through. You are right they had a great run on Def American & all their stuff on that label just kicked ass.

I have the albums Danzig and Lucifuge and they are fucking great !! I listened to the album after that (forgot which one it was) and it sucked, since then I didn´t care too much anymore about Danzig. Obviously I didn´t mis anything.

The first 4 albums are incredible slabs of darkened blues metal. If they called it a day after 4, they would have an incredible legacy and would be considered a legandary band IMO.:Smokedev:

I used to love Danzig back in the day. I agree, I lost interest after Eerie and John exited. The last album I bought of theirs was Danzig 4, which was awsome. My fav is still 'How The Gods Kill'. A freind bought that 'Blackaciddevil' which I couldn't digest at all. I didn't mind that song 'Sacrifice'. That is the last song I heard of them. I just completly lost interest. Misfits do way more for me these days. But I've always thought Glen was a total toss.

Danzig was a good band when they were a small cult act like from 88 to 90, after Mother finaly broke on MTV the band just became too overexposed for it's own good and the material started getting weak from Danzig 3 onward. Danzig and Lucifuge will always have a welcome spot in my record collection though.

Great post mighty SWINE. Danzig, the MIGHTY MIDGET is, in my opinion, a great man and band. I didn't like Blackacidevil, but the two after that weren't bad. Still LUCIFUGE is my fav. BTW, I plan to have the MISFITS discs out to you this weekend along with a couple surprises that I picked up....

Danzig should NEVER call it a day!!! !:kickass:

I thought that Danzig 777 was the best since Danzig 4p. I always liked Blackacidevil, the only one I don't care much for is 6:66 (aside from Thirteen).

Also realize that Glenn has written every note ever done with the band (aside from covers), Eerie Von, John Christ, and Chuck Biscuits never had any creative input whatsoever. That is my favorite lineup though, Danzig III and 4p are masterpieces.

danzig 1 was just fucking awsome.saw him at the astoria earlier this year(or was it last?)and he wasnt that great.real shame.he fuckin rocked when he supported metallica at the odeon.liked eerie and john, but tommy victor is class.
