Since James Macdonough is no longer Megadeth's bass player what are the chances of Dave Ellefson returning?? And will it make a difference?

I'd bet the lineup changes again. I wasn't dissapointed with Macdonough and the Drovers. Actually, I was impressed by how tight they were.
Megadeth's lineup has changed so many times the name of the band should be changed to The Dave Mustaine Project.

i would have my doubts about that. Dave isn't even gonna record a CD with this lineup? Anyone know what happened and is the drummer still there?

I dont see the Drovers going anywhere for a while.
As for Ellefson returning, I think its possible. Apparently they've made up with each other and even had dinner together recently. Ellefson even said he'd rejoin if he was given the chance.
Don't get your hopes up for anything though.

it would..but.......... i always feel bad for people who get called in to fill shoes with bands. I know that Megadeth's current bass player worked his ass off to get into the band. I read an interview with him back when he first joined and he was very emotional about the whole thing. It must suck to tour and have the time of your life, then one day you wake up and it's like "here's your bus ticket" - - - - - oh - wait - that's what happened to Mustaine! No wonder he always kicks poeple out!
Anyway from a fans perspective, it would be cool to see Elefson back. Though, I have a good feeling that the reason he said he would join back up is because ;
A. His lawsuit held no credability. You don't ask for your royaltys after 20 years in the band.
B. His other project went no where fast. He's gotta miss the music and the crowds. Any one of us would.

Menza was supposed to tour with them on their TSHF tour but was let go just a few days into rehearsals and replaced with Shawn Drover.
