I'm very confused about Dave Mustaine's political views.
He has always seemed left wing, by his statements, and his lyrics, but for some reason he has been saying a bunch of right wing things over the past couple of years.
He supported Rick Santourum, who is completely against heavy metal, so why would a heavy metal musician like Dave Mustaine support him?
He did support Bill Clinton when he was running, which is very left wing, but I don't know what happened. He said that he wanted a republican president. Dave Mustain seems like the last person to want a republican president.


I don't understand.

It would be great if someone could explain this to me.
Also, even though I'm left wing, I'm not trying to insult Dave Mustaine, I'm just confused.

He's a right winger now. If i'm not mistaken he was even going to endorse Rick Santorum a few years back. I always thought he had turned into some kind of staunch republican, but OC Weekly interviewed Dave in 2013 where he had this to say ...

I don't think he is right wing really,but he used to help far left, now he's center left.

He is definitely on the libertarian side of things, though.

The user base is generally very close-minded, as are the mod team; ignorance is tolerated so long as it doesn't piss people off, but truths are quashed when they start to upset people or ruffle feathers.

Are you one of them? Regardless, there is nothing subjective about what i said. I'm full of shit because Dave has released albums that are bonafide classics of the genre? Or am i full of shit because i said he clearly was/is one of the most influential metal musicians around today? Please, just point out which one of those two do you think people are going to disagree with?

Those aren't my opinions bro, they're shared almost unanimously. And regardless of how much some of you guys love to hate certain bands here, you're never going to be able to rewrite history, just fucking give up.
