Dead Bread song for you to mix - death metal content

can you offer up some details on your guitar and bass sources? What di box you used for guitar / pickups. Also that bass was the easiest damn bass to work with. what are some of the details on that? did you use a sans amp? active/passive pups?

Guitar it's a Ibanez GIO (I don't know which model because I borrowed it) with V7 and V8 pickups.
Bass guitar (also borrowed :p) is a 5 string GMR with active pickups but I've used passive.
Both instruments plugged directly to my Toneport GX and than plugins in Cubase

Nice snare dude! What is it?

cool thanks for the info. Triscore's snare kick combo sounds alot like mine, haha snare 12a and kick 10. but i blended 12a with 15 for some higher pop

Cool song really. Kinda reminds me of late 90's early 2k deathmetal, reminds me of hateplow for some reason. Tho it sounded abit boring at first, but the more i heard it, the more i liked it.

I am off tomorrow so this will give me something to do.
Thanks for the trax.

Your "shitty mix" is far from shitty. It's great !.

Glad that you like it guys!!. The snare is Snare3P from steven slate fx, with the overheads button disabled in kontakt4 render to wav. Eq, compression, trasients, gclip and a bit parallel compression. Send good amount to a reverb buss with UA Realverb and eq. All blended little little bit with overheads and room tracks from superior drummer (rest of the drum). Yes!!, the kick is kick10 hahahaha. More or less similar process like snare channel. Good song and good mixes guys, congrats!

Thanks for the trax!
There are loads of digital clicks.
Sounds like you have a sync problem or buffer too low.
Man I find it so hard to mix midi drums!
Can't get the same clarity and density as a live kit no matter what do.
Here is mix anyway.

PS I think some of the lead guitar DIs are missing in the download zip.

Clicks are from quantizing guitars etc. it doesn't matter because you plug ampsims on it :)
Nice work!!

Nice work!!

Clicks on the bass too.
You should really crossfade all the edits.

My mix is almost bass free!
That's what I get for mixing after re-amping a load of guitars.
(re-amped an album's guitars before doing this).
I will have another go at mixing when time permits.
Can you upload the missing files if possible?

Nahh not necessary if you're using ampsims. Vocals are crossfaded but I don't think this bass need it :)

I don't have this session here anymore :(

Error :(

What do you think ?

Not bad. Try it with vocals :)

The 1 mix has better dynamics for my taste :)
