Death Lasagna

Ok, I made it and I took pictures. I made my own tomato based sauce (sexyyummy, indeed) and my own bechamel sauce too, which rocksandrolls.

All freshly made up, ready for the oven:

It was chicken lasagna with sweet red peppers, incase anyone wants to know. I couldn't find my larger casserole dish, hence the crush of the small one.

LASAGNA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, the texture most store bought mozzarella is pretty poor. Proper Buffalo mozzarella is served in big, rough chunks. When a pizza comes with thin, circular slices of mozzarella I get depressed - you can't cut proper mozzarella like that! It needs to be a shapeless chunk just sitting on top of tomatoes.

Good man.

Pffft, the US has a major tomato recall apparently. I just got the fax in work today. Looks like I'm gonna have to return those 2 full cases of tomatoes I ordered. Such a shame..

Description

Cordon (Indeterminate). These medium sized black tomatoes grow on compact plants bearing plenty of dark mahogany-brown fruits, with a delicious blend of sugar and acid, making a distinctive, complex flavor that has to be tasted to be believed. (Lycopersicon esculentum).

Heritage tomatoes: Thompson and Morgan over the past 100 years have found several tomatoes from their own trials and through travelling around the world seeing and tasting varieties both old and new. We have put together a range of good old fashioned tomatoes from those forgotten years that we consider have stood the test of time. All are unusual in color and shape having a wonderful flavor of how tomatoes used to be, making a welcome addition to any kitchen garden.

I have this plant. Is this awesome? Y/N

All the purveyors around the US usually purchase their tomatoes from a central source. So odds are most of the tomatoes circulating are "contaminated."

We have a crop of early girls and some other kind growing outside. They already have little baby green tomatoes on them.

I also planted some parsley, chives and basil, but I've killed them some how. I don't know what I did but I just have a knack for killing plants.
