Explain your sig

it's a stanza from a poem I wrote:

Fade

A vision of a maiden,
a pure and sacred sight.
Like a glimpse of everlasting pale divining light.
Then suddenly a form appears,
a form of black and grey.
But when the maiden turns around, this shadow fades away.

The maiden bends her knees and prays,
to some god who's earned her trust.
The shadow then appears again; her prayer turns to dust.
She turns and sees the shadow,
and cries out in dismay:
"Who are you, that enter here!?", again, it fades away.

The maiden, she is worried.
Who might this shadow be?
She wonders if it's trapped in here, and if she could set it free.
The next time that the shadow comes,
she utters "please do stay"
The shadow answers "come with me" before he fades away.

She thinks about his answer,
what had he meant by it?
Does he wants her to follow him, to his realm of light unlit?
The shadow now steps out,
from the darkness where it lay.
She greets it, and it flutters, but it doesn't fade away.

It takes a seat beside her,
her candle is blown out.
She knows that she has lost control, but cannot scream nor shout.
Light will follow darkness,
and this light is lead astray
And as she shuts her door and leaves, her image fades away.
