Hi,
I've been working on this death metal project for some time. The songs aren't ready, but in the meantime I'm also working on the sound. Thing is, I don't know which guitar to pick to do the final recordings with. It's kind of a luxury problem maybe, but I'd really appreciate any opinions I can get on this. I recorded some test guitars for 3 songs, they're all done on different guitars. #01 is done with an Ibanez Jem, #02 is done with an Ibanez Xiphos and #03 is done with a Jackson Soloist. My question is, which tone do you like most? I realize it's not ideal, cause they're different songs, and the strings aren't really new (but around the same age). Still they're done on the same amp (ENGL E570), and the Jackson is most different to me, but since I've been working on this for too long maybe it'd be cool to hear other's views on this. Also input on the mix in general would be very very nice because I still have to learn very much. There's no lead guitars (yet). Hope someone wants to help me with this.
