Correct.

Forbidden - Forbidden Evil
Heathen - Breaking The Silence
Incorrect. Pwned by the second album in both cases, especially Forbidden.

Queensrÿche's first EP was the best thing they ever did, in terms of average song quality. Sabbat's History of A Time To Come is easily one of the best debuts ever. Metal Church's s/t may fit on this list; I honestly can't decide which MC album is the best.

Demigod - Slumber of Sullen Eyes: The sheer crushing and brooding atmosphere this album conjures almost makes it the best death metal album ever (with the exception of Nespithe). I know that Demigod has only released two full-lengths but their debut would be quite a task to top.
Hell yes.

My picks:

Order From Chaos - Stillbirth Machine
Nagelfar - Hunengrab im Herbst
Nachtfalke - Doomed to Die
Exhorder - Slaughter in the Vatican
Fester - Winter of Sin
Massacra - Final Holocaust
Eucharist - A Velvet Creation
Cemetary - An Evil Shade of Grey
Necrophobic - The Nocturnal Silence
Sacramentum - Far Away From the Sun
Satanic Warmaster - Strength and Honour

I disagree. I just have more fun with the first Heathen, and I enjoy Forbidden's first album more than most people. ;)

There are way too fucking many.

Nocturnus - The Key
Sunn O))) - ØØ Void
Burzum - Burzum (hopefully Aske can be counted, too, but if not this still holds true)
Queens Of The Stone Age - s/t
Agalloch - Pale Folklore
Holymarsh - In The Holymarsh
Axis Of Advance - Strike
Necrophagist - Onset Of Putrefaction
Mayhem - De Mysterris Dom Sathanas (I don't even really like it that much, but it's far better than anything else they've released, and that says a lot)
...and Oceans - The Dynamic Gallery Of Thoughts
Necrophobic - The Nocturnal Silence
Metalucifer - Heavy Metal Drill
Exhorder - Slaughter In The Vatican

...That's it for now.

PS. Evil Blood, croatian 1984 thrash, hot tip.

After this awesome live version of Painkiller from Budapest early this year. I swear, Halford may be faltering it a little bit nowadays, but he sounds like a fucking demon on this one. :headbang:

I have to disagree with you on these....the next release by all of these bands surpassed their first....in Immolation a couple more of their releases are better than DoP

I won't protest against your comment for I too enjoy the predecessors to all of those albums you quoted... but this is not to say that the debuts are not strong enough in their own right.
