While you're all rushing around to pigeonhole each and every band into the most limited devisable sub-genre definition possible, and rewriting history... I'll just listen to metal, and keep the genres to the basics. You'll have to forgive me if I just call Falconer Power Metal and not Powerfolkmelodicspeed Metal.
Some people can get a bit ridiculous as far as genre-labeling goes, but they have a point. As metal's sound expands, more genres are needed. You can't fit everything into the basic death/black/power/prog/heavy/doom/folk/thrash. When bands come up with creative and new sounds that defy classification, a new subgenre may be necessary.
