I just got two missing Opeth albums, and I've been listening to them a lot. And now when I've finally heard them all...I chose Still life. It wasn't an easy decision.

You all have probably heard elsewhere or I've maybe just missed Jim's post here, but I've been wondering what the highlighted portion below will result in.

'allo...

The most important bits... he's now engaged... and... the two CD plan is no longer an idea, no longer a rumor, but a reality that will happen, with the tentative studio date this spring.

He also said he does NOT want to make Blackwater Park II, and they are at the stage now where he wants to 'risk' (his word) his fan base and make sure the band does something different... my interpretation of that is we're in for a change in scope like Morningrise->MAYH was... and both happened after the band had actually toured a lot, hmmm...

Anyway, the full interview went about 50 minutes, and will run in LotFP Weekly for the week of January 28... if you get a 4 issue subscription between now and 1/25, you'll be sure to receive this issue...

Check out the website for past interviews with Akerfeldt, and order if you'd like...

I wonder what he's up to next. Mikael and his surprises. :spin: The anticipation!

To remember..."

It has to be Orchid. It started as MAYH, went to Morningrise and Still Life.. But it all ended up with the beginning. Orchid's songs are EXTREMELY well written, engaging, interesting, catchy, and have the best solos with the most emotion..

aaarrrgggghhhh.. I love it.

can't beat the blue cd! ;)

How can it be a definitive poll when there is one album missing?

Anyway i can't choose...

Check when the topic was posted :)

I voted for MAYH, which is easily my favourite..I'm shocked at Still Life winning, I expected BWP or Morningrise to run away with it..I've hardly heard a good comment about Still Life since I've been coming here.

For me, Orchid and Morningrise are their FINEST work....right now, I don't think Opeth (IMO) will ever top such brilliant music they have created for those albums....the twin guitar work is marvelous and stunning, the songs are of EPIC proportions and for the GREATEST part, the music is just so emotional and at the same time powerful and heavy....everything is here for the taking. The GREATEST by far; but, if I must place ALL their albums in order, it would go something like this.....mind you, I LOVE ALL their albums.....Opeth are a brilliant band!

1. Orchid (which is the album I voted! All around greatness...)

2. Morningrise

3. My Arms, Your Hearse

4. Blackwater Park

5. Still Life

Man, I'm surprised and HAPPY as hell Orchid has so many votes and am shocked Morningrise is the album NOT in the lead.....isn't it the one that is ALWAYS on top??? It still has what is my favourite song of all time - "Black Rose Immortal."
