That's the movie deliverance. About a group of guys who go white water rafting and end up dying and trying to survive in the waters etc... We all know about Mikaels "Burt Reynolds in Deliverance" jokes... so I checked it out.

Lyric from Deliverance "As I drown you in the see" and "Face down beneath the waterline, gazing into the deep"... is it just me or is that strikingly similar?

In Montreal Mike said the song Deliverance was the title track from a movie that was released in the early 70's. I thought it was just a weird joke because of the totally incoherent story he told, but the movie you mentioned came out in 72. That's interesting.
