actually unless you use really old applications with old widget sets, everything looks pretty much the same. and at least even if you get an uncommon look and feel, it's generally clean and minimalist, and not overbloated and cumbersome like those crap windows apps that are all over the place, namely msn and yahoo messenger, etc.
