Devin Townsend

People who don't like Ziltoid are probably the ones who choose to watch Modern Marvels instead of re-runs of Rocko's Modern Life. It's pretty much my third favorite.

I've never really understood the love for Infinity. Like most of his projects it's laughably over-produced, but jeebus.

Synchestra and AE I listened to for about a week when they came out, but pretty much forgot about after that. Though I think AE made my official top 10 Royal Carnage list of 2003, back when such a thing existed. Terrible.

Though I don't listen to Ocean Machine or Terria much anymore, they were definitely bigtime for me back in the day and will always have a "special place" in my heart, somewhere between the left ventricle and the wide gaping hole that was left from the first time I heard Physicist.

Ziltoid had a few good songs, but waaaaayyy too much narrating. leave that to bal sagoth.

Terria and Ocean Machine are irrefutable classics. I enjoy AE and Physicist. I agree about Infinity. Some goods songs, though. I didn't like Synchestra, but I really think I wasn't in the mood for Hevy Devy at the time.

I probably need to hear City again.

City is easily the third best Townsend-related work f'sho

"Hyperdrive" = top 3 of his best songs. isnt' there a new version of it on the new one sung by a chick?

The first one is really good.

The second one is terrible, don't bother. It's so bad the CD even comes with a warning sticker on the front telling you how terrible it is.

So is the Devin Townsend Exp. the sort of thing you hep-cats find radical and fancy these days? I guess I am very up-hip because that shit sounds bad bad bad to me.

"Your username on YouTube is “Poopy Nuggeteer.” Why is that?

I’m so into scatological humour. I think it’s something really cool to think about. Even the most brilliant person still poops. I imagine this scenario where people, who are infinitely more intelligent than you and I, are sitting around in a room talking about secret government masonry and superstructure, but in the middle of it, a guy has to get up to take a shit. That’s something that really connects humans, other than being born and dying. We all shit and fart. So, nothing gets me going better than a good fart joke."

Teaser on the Myspace as well as this:

are Hummer and Devlab any good? i'm not into ambient soundscape too much but the EKO extra disc on Accelerated Evolution was real good.
