DI box or new interface

Hey guys,

last couple of days I've been thinking in this issue but I cannot make up my mind. I would like to improve my signal chain because I have an interface with a so-so instrument input. Should I buy a DI box to use the XLR input of my current interface or should I go for a new interface ? What would you suggest ? I could go up to 300$, and I don't need many inputs since I mainly record guitar and bass.

M-Audio Firewire Solo. Its impedance for the Hi-Z input is only 270kOhms.

I have a Scarlett 2i2 and noticed a better signal going into it whenever I use a DI box. With that said, I'm not sure how old the Firewire Solo is, but it's a discontinued product now. Maybe a new interface would be a better purchase.

Thanks for the advise mate. I'll get a new interface I guess. Now comes the hard part though, choosing the proper interface is always a suffering hahaha
